Together, we can make a difference! We are excited to kick off our school-wide CMS Yearbook Coin Drive tomorrow to support our local nursing home. With your generous donations over the past five years, we have been able to bring joy to more and more residents who do not have families to provide for them during this giving season. Let's continue to spread kindness and make a positive impact in our community. 🐺‼

STEM education and learning are becoming increasingly popular and important in today's society. As technology continues to advance, it is critical for students to have a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math. By focusing on these core subjects, students can develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities that will serve them well in their future careers.

Fall is finally here (kinda) and Mrs. Fox's kindergarten class is super excited about it! They recently learned about the changing of seasons and how leaves on trees change their colors. They even got to create their very own fall trees to celebrate the season. Looks like it was so much fun! 🍁🐺🍂

November 6-10 is National School Psychology Week. Parents and guardians of CISD students are invited to refer their students for counseling through the district's website. Mrs. Tia Follis, LPC-A, provides in-house counseling for students as a part of CISD's comprehensive support services. CISD is committed to ensuring every student has access to the resources they need to excel academically and emotionally by offering counseling services and other mental health initiatives.
CISD is delighted to offer ParentGuidance.org, a free and confidential website exclusively for families. The website was developed by licensed therapists, providing specialized courses, professional support, and a secure community for parents to learn how to support their children.
ParentGuidance.org is an excellent resource for parents seeking answers to mental health questions such as anxiety, depression, self-worth, grief and loss, suicide ideation, family strife, and other mental health concerns. Popular courses include "Parenting with a Purpose" and "Unlocking Your Inner Parent Superhero," which offer parents tools to form stronger bonds with their children.
We are also hosting a Family Mental Health Night, an upcoming virtual event on Wednesday, December 13th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. You can use this link https://events.parentguidance.org/FMHNDec13 to register for the event. Dr. Kevin Skinner, ParentGuidance.org's clinical director, and a Marriage and Family Therapist, will be present to answer any questions you may have. ParentGuidance.org is free and confidential, you can look for the ParentGuidance.org logo on our website to access this new service available to parents within our district.

🐺Last week was a busy week for Miss Morris' classes. Floral Design kids have been hard at work on their candy bouquet projects and have turned out some good looking bouquets. Advanced Floral Design kids stepped it up a notch this year to try some out of the box projects including an edible arrangement and a few door hangers. Kids in the greenhouse class have plants growing in the tower garden and learning how to adjust the pH to maintain optimal plant growth. 🌿🍭🍫🌻
Not pictured is the vet class because we get so busy Miss Morris forgets to take pictures. 😆 They have been helping maintain animal health at the school farm with a deworming and microbe administering program. Preventative health saves so much sickness. They and the Advanced Animal Science and Livestock Production kids help administer medicine when needed to help keep animals healthy and minimize the spread of sickness.
Plants, animals, and a little floral fun!
