🐺Colorado FFA State Cotton Judging🐺
Colorado FFA members Morgan Scott, Mallory Carreon, Wyatt Wylie, Carli Garrison, and Lucy Foster spent Friday practicing grading cotton at the USDA Cotton Classing Office followed by Saturday in contest putting their skills to work. They have to evaluate both the color of the Cotton sample and quantity of trash (leaf) and be able to grade and score as they finish. They learned lots and improved their scores. They were a bit out of reach for a top 10 banner however they were 17th in area and 3rd in our district.

Mrs. Roach challenged her 5th grade students this year to reach beyond their 100% AR goals and several have done just that!
JBo Boyd (125%), Anique Rivera (150%), Riley Scott (500%), Natalia Silva (125%) and Avi Davila (200%). Riley's mom joined in her 500% celebration by creating her celebration hat she wore today!

🐺In Mrs. Hammond's 6th grade RLA class they are reviewing for the Reading STAAR test. There were 5 writing samples placed around the room and the students moved from piece to piece determining what score they believed each piece would get. They based their grades off of the criteria they have learned this year that should be included in a good essay. 🐺
