She’s coming back with some hardware and we’re so proud of her, the hard work she put in, and everything she’s learned to work on for next year!
Out of 8,163 competitors (396 from Texas 🤠) and about 90 in her category- Lilly received a plaque for her 2nd place award. Lilly also received a gold medal for scoring between a 90-100 on her project and overall presentation!
If you see her around town, (in between cheer prep, and working at the pool) please give her a big high five, because she has made CISD the proudest district in Texas! (& y’all know how BIG Texas is!❤️)

‼️🐺Mitchell County 4-H and Colorado FFA News 🐺‼️
For many individuals that participate in livestock projects in Mitchell County they start late summer and maintain those projects through around March. Other than folks that show steers and typically have almost year round we have some new folks emerging that are hitting the show rings and having continual success. RABBITS are a growing project choice in Mitchell County for kids. They are small and can be kept at home. Within 2 years kids have grown in their projects to the point there are many raising their own and looking to build their breeding herd.
With that being said Mitchell County 4-H's Katy Mae Sheets and Colorado FFA's Lucy Foster are 2 examples of many showing rabbits that are building their breeding program. They recently took their projects to the Wichita Falls show which was stated as the largest rabbit show in the state of Texas with 9455 rabbits being entered to show Friday June 7th - Sunday June 9th. There were 401 exhibitors from 10 states and 22 judges from 12 states. This is the 2nd year in this venue and they are excited for many more.
The results for these girls over the 3 shows were as follows:
Katy Mae had a Best of Breed Mini Satin that also placed 2nd reserve overall in show A. She also had several other 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in class. Show B was Best of variety broken mini satin along with 1st-5th places in other classes. Show C was similar with a best of variety 1st - 4th places in other classes. She showed both mini satins and dwarf hotots. Katy also received recognition in the Youth Intermediate contests in the following: 2nd Poster, 9th Breed ID, and 10th Showmanship.
Lucy had numerous 1st, 2nd, and 3rd's during the 3 shows. She showed the following breeds: triantha, flemish giant, giant chinchilla, netherland dwarf, and blue holicer. She also had mini satins but had to leave them home to have babies.
These girls are representing Mitchell County well as the trek across the state.
